Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree

Combine career-specific coursework with general education courses to complete this degree, which usually takes two or more years.

Certificate of Achievement

You can focus solely on career-specific coursework and earn this credential in fewer than two years.

A Career Ready AAS is an associate’s degree that focuses on career preparation. This credential is designed for students to enter the workforce immediately upon completion.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act allows certain groups of eligible people, including dislocated/laid off workers, to apply for funding they can use to retrain for in-demand careers. Many of Waubonsee’s credit career programs, along with a few noncredit offerings, serve as training program options.

For qualifying individuals between 17-24 years old, the Waubonsee Works Program provides free tuition and books for a short-term, career-focused certificate at Waubonsee.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeship is a structured work-based learning model that combines on-the-job training and education. The on-the-job portion is often paid, so you can earn while you learn.
